SAW DELAYED TARGET

 Standard and Battlefield Configurations

The Fredwal Delay Target is configured in two general styles.  The basic delay unit is supplied with either a horn or with the standard Fredwal Parabolic Antenna.

It is suitable for mounting on a 3 to 4 inch pole. This unit supplied for the Firefinder Test Program contains a user selectable delay with side lobe suppression.

The same pulse from the host radar is returned back to the radar's receiver thus maintaining coherency.

The basic delay increment is 3.2 microseconds.

To achieve this delay, Fredwal uses a patented Solid-State Delay line. For longer delays the basic unit is switched in a special circuit developed by Fredwal that allows the input pulse to orbit a selected number of times.

Total delays of up to 50 microseconds are achieved with a single delay line making the Fredwal Delay Target a very cost-effective solution to the clutter problem. The ability to select a precise delay in increments of the basic unit (3.2 microseconds) makes the target extremely flexible

All delays are switch selectable and can be controlled locally
or with the Fredwal Remote Data Link

The target shown incorporates 8 delay increments over a bandwidth of 600 MHz with 16 delay increments over a lesser bandwidth.
